I have to write this down so years from now I will remember. Because I am forgetting things latley.
So Friday's M has early out day. They are released an hour earlier than normal. Well, I totally forgot. Which is weird because I don't forget things like that. He is let out at 2:10. I remembered this at 2:20. Not bad, only 15 minutes late. So when I remember I grab C and we leave. Half way there she
asks me where Eli is. OH...............that kid. You mean the one I left home asleep in his crib? Nice.
So do I turn around? Just hurry and get Mason?
I decide to keep going. If Eli woke up he would be okay. The house was locked and he can't get out of his crib. He can only cry. (I rehearsed this so I would know what to say to Child protective services) I'll hurry and get M who will be patiently waiting for me outside the school.
I pull up to the curb and leave Camden in the car. I run in and don't see M.
Mmmmmmm...........maybe he is in his classroom. Nope
Lunchroom maybe?
NattaI am starting to get worried. Where would he go?
Bathroom? NO
His teacher feels horrible and is looking everywhere. Meanwhile I am thinking about Eli at home. After realizing this is taking longer than I planned, I go out to the car to get C.
Then I hear someone yell
"Mom!" I turn at it is M. He is in a van pulling up to the school.
When I asked him where he was he says,
"
You weren't here so I started walking home."
You what?!
Okay, we don't live in walking distance from the school. A kid's mom from his class saw him walking and stopped.
When she asked him if he lived by the school he said "
well, I live somewhere."The whole way home I had a talk with him what to do if I'm ever late. (which
probably won't be ever again. Notice I said
probably. Just being honest)
