Mason turnes 8.......4 months ago

Our M-Dawg turned 8 on July 26. It was on a Sunday and we were traveling back from Idaho. The next night we went to dinner at Village Inn to celebrate. The boy LOVES his pancakes, french toast, and waffles. I made his favorite chocolate cake. Happiness. He also got a Nintendo DS for his birthday. He has wanted one for a long time but I am so against the electronics for kids. That's all they want to do. Next thing you know they are 50lbs overweight and tired from walking to the bathroom.

Favorite things......straight from the mouth of Mason

1. I love french toast
2. Favorite color is green
3. I like playing my DS
4. I like playing with my friends
5. Love to talk about knives with my dad
6. My favorite movie is Star Wars
7. I love watching TV

Va-cay

We took the Disneyland for the first time. They were pretty dang excited about the plane ride. Here we are on the train to take us to our gate. EXCITEMENT.
Day 1
Daegan was by far the most giddy......as usual.

This was our first stop after checking into the Hotel. I am not a big fan of the burgers but they do make a killer strawberry shake.

Day 2
As many of you know my husband is a flashoholic. No, he doesn't go around flashing people, he finds bright lights fascinating. He will pay a lot for a good light with lots of lumens. SO when he found out that there was a Surefire showroom we stopped by for a quick look.

Aquarium

We took a walk to Downtown Disney to get us pumped up for the next day.

Eating at House of Blues

Day 3 Disneyland

Nemo ride

The 1 character we did see. I was a little dissapointed because we didn't see Mickey or any Princesses. What's up Disney?

Tea Pots.....Not for me. I'll let you take this one babe.

Waiting for the fireworks.

Day 4
Headed to the beach

SO Camden left the Cheetos out and the birds ate them up in about 5 seconds. Not even a crumb left. Just a feather.

Day 5
We stopped at the LA Temple for some pics.

We had a great time! Now it's back to school and laundry.
The school part I don't mind so much

One year older

And wiser too. Really. I feel like it. I have learned a lot in these past 31 years. I feel like I could offer advice on just about anything.
2 days before my b-day I did some celebrating with my new CO friends at Cheesecake Factory. I'm not sure if they came for me or the cheesecake.
I told Daegan it was my birthday week. Too many people want in on this celebration I have to split it up to be fair.
I'm kinda a big deal.

Mel, Jentrey, Jen.
Dawn and Carolyn

Katie K, Katie S, Jen, Pili

My sister-in-law and her little boy Carter flew in on my birthday (like I said, I'm kinda a big deal)
They actually flew in to be here for Mason's baptism (post on that day later......me first)
We went to dinner to Texas Roadhouse.

On my actual birthday my sweet friend Melanie baked me a cake. How cute is she!

First days of school

Wow. I am way behind on getting these on the blog.
Camden started Kindergarten. Full day. Not so happy.
I know, it sounds perfect right? Now that she is gone I only have Eli at home.
Exactly......I only have Eli at home.
Who is going to play with him all day? Who is going to get him water and snacks while I am reading The Mockingjay? Who is going to take care of him?
Kidding. I take care of my children.
The truth is summer went by way to fast. School started Aug.5

1st day of Kindergarten The school has a dress code that they must be in a collared shirt. It's been kind of tough finding some cute things for her. Ya know, because that's what's important.

Camden and her cute friend Eden. She lives by us and they are in the same class. Fun!!

7:30 a.m. The sun is right in their eyes.

Eli is in a Tiny Tots class 2 days a week for 2 hours. He loves it and has a couple buddies that are in his class.

You-Da-Ho

I went to Idaho for a visit with the family. Daegan flew out the last couple days to make the drive back with me. While we were away he went camping.......alone........who does that?
These are my good buddies that I met while I was a nanny out East. Yes, I used to get paid for doing the mommy thing.
We are all from Idaho. They both work at the same gas station. Fun girls!!

My Mom and Dad with some of the grand kids.

My Sister had some dirt bikes and we would take the kids for rides.
How Idaho is that?!

Eli didn't like it at first. He was probably afraid my Dad would try and pop a wheely like he did when I was younger. Well, my dad did in fact did pop a wheely later that week and broke his shoulder. Nice Dad. Nice. Poor guy.

Shaved Ice. One of the best things in the summer. I could eat one every day. And I almost did.

My sister built this rope swing in her back yard. It was way fun! We would climb the ladder and then jump off with the rope.
No, I didn't do that with Eli. We were just swinging safely.

This is where Idaho Falls get it's name from. We walked by the river and fed the ducks.

So, it was a good trip.
